watching tv online is about to get a whole lot more annoying

Oh yeah, I forgot about your Comedy Central Roast. And that time you were on Dancing with the Stars. Ah, yes, Borat, of course. If you know me at all you know late Thursday afternoons are pretty much when the weekend begins Black Friday Oreo 5s. With that in mind I can’t think of a better way to get things started than by watching/listening to an intoxicated detainee in the back of a Royal Canadian Mounted Police car sing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” in its entirety, complete with instrumentals.Is the entire thing six minutes long? Yes. Is it six minutes of unbridled genius? Also yes.

It’s over on the AMC website. I don’t know who actually writes the blog — an AMC intern, a Breaking Bad staffer, or Dean Norris himself — but whoever it is, they’ve perfectly captured the voice of Hank. He doesn’t offer any foreshadowing clues or any great previews into the future of the show, but he’s got some pretty great insights into life, the evils of money, and why having a pain in the ass for a wife is not such a bad thing

When I downloaded the latest podcast of NPR’s Fresh Air this morning I was delighted to learn that Dean Norris — aka Hank Schrader from Breaking Bad — was Terry Gross’s guest on the show. Norris spoke at length about his character and the show, and since we all seem to be Breaking Bad geeks around here, I figured that y’all would enjoy it just as much as I did. Below are a few of my favorite moments from the interview, including a possible spoiler he may have let slip out

Mark Hudson of the Daily Telegraph commented that it was “one of the most unanimously negative responses to any exhibition in living memory.” Tom Lubbock of The Independent spoke about Hirst s work being derivative, weak and boring , adding, “Hirst, as a painter, is at about the level of a not-very-promising, first-year art student.” Whilst Rachel Campbell-Johnston of The Times said it was “shockingly bad.” Now his latest exhibition appears to be faring no better as an art critic in The Guardian stated that Hurst “can kid himself he is an Old Master and have the art world go along with the fantasy
Black Friday 2013 Jordan 5s.” This exhibition, which is being held at the White Cube gallery in Bermondsey, is causing much publicity for Hurst but all it seems for the wrong reasons. Ben Luke, who writes for The London Evening Standard has much to say about the show of paintings. He states about Hurst that, “He gives a masterclass in inept drawing, unable to give anything a sense of its form, weight or depth, and the lines criss-crossing the painting, inspired by Francis Bacon’s “space frames”, only serve to weave a messy web over the chaos beneath.” Adding, “Hirst’s fame means no one stands in his way, and this show is an utter embarrassment for him and the gallery.
